Doors of the Urban Gnomes

You've seen them before...
At the corner of your eye... at the bottom edge of that far wall. 
Sometimes you think that you're probably imagining them.  Maybe you are... but then it's likely that you've just glimpsed a gnome door.

They're not fairies.  Their domain is the garden and the forests. Gnomes prefer the urban landscape.

And in the very unlikely event that you actually meet a gnome, NEVER ask them about gardens.  Unless you're looking to get a sharp kick to the ankles or a stab in the toe.   (Real gnomes consider references to the porcelain effigies culturally-insensitive racial stereotypes.)

Anyway, gnome presence can be found the their little doors found all over the urban landscape.  They use these to get around.  Recently it has become trendy to collect found gnome doors - and turn them into tiny artworks.  Many become brooches and fridge magnets while others become framed displays.  Don't worry, the gnomes don't mind as they can easily create another portal. 
In fact some research into urban mythos suggest that visits by urban gnomes are harbingers of good fortune and blessing.  This has led to many collectors installing gnome doors throughout their homes to invite a visitation.
