Portfolio Development

Most art and design institutions would require a portfolio of works from each applicant. In short, good academic grades, while commendable, are not much help if you don't have a body of work to demonstrate your level of skills related to that area.

A good portfolio is not just a collection of good artwork, it's a journal of your research and ideas.  Fundamentally it's a portrait of who you are and how you think.

I'm a former junior college and polytechnic lecturer.  Besides training and developing the practical skill sets, one area I've been very involved in is the development of research and documentation as the second crucial pillar to a portfolio.

Course Outline

The course would focus on a combination of both practical art skills and research.

It is conducted on a one-to-one consultation basis, allowing for customization and adjustment to the course needs.

The course will be based on two fundamental pillars:

1.  Art Making with traditional media

2.  Documentation and Research
(Optional areas of development would be digital art and art history)

Each session is 2 hours long, and will be conducted at the student's home.
